Investor Relations Officer
Location: Amsterdam, ING Head Office

Our Team: Investor Relations ING Group (9 people)
We are a close-knit team of highly motivated professionals, working in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced environment. We play an integral role in the relationship between ING and the investment community, and are responsible for communicating ING’s strategy, investment proposition and providing the market with sufficient information to properly assess both the opportunities and risks of investing in ING. Although we are part of the Finance organisation and work with numbers, communication and strategy are also a key part of our work. Our goal is to prepare and communicate ING’s equity story to investors, analysts and rating agencies and to collect external feedback to advise the boards on strategic topics. Working in this team offers a great opportunity to build knowledge on ING and an ever-changing range of topics relevant in the dynamic environment of banking. We use this knowledge to position ING as an attractive investment case to the outside world. The current team includes professionals with diverse banking backgrounds.
What you’ll do
We offer the opportunity to work in a small, professional and highly dedicated team, which collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will be involved in a wide array of activities including:
- Developing ING’s external key messaging and the story behind the numbers
- Developing a profound understanding of market dynamics/events and regulatory changes, as well as assessing the consequences, and determining the appropriate external reaction for ING
- Preparing written communications, such as the quarterly press release, investor presentations (e.g. Capital Markets Day, Quarterly Results Presentation, Rating Agency presentations) as well as internal senior management briefing packages
- Face-to-face and virtual meetings with investors, analysts and other market participants to tell the ING story and increase their understanding ING‘s strategy and financial performance. These meetings can be IR-only or can involve members of the Executive Board, MBB and senior managers
- Topical analysis to facilitate strategic decision-making by the Executive Board, MBB and senior management
- Dealing independently with ad hoc information requests from investors, analysts and other external parties
Your ideal profile
The ideal candidate will combine strong financial and analytical capabilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. What we are looking for:
- A strong financial background and understanding of financial statements and performance drivers
- The ability to understand, analyst and explain the key drivers of ING’s financial performance
- Curious and challenging, wants to understand the story behind the numbers - asks questions, looks for the ‘why’ and concrete proof points to translate numbers into a qualitative story
- Analytical, conceptual thinker with attention to detail – able to react quickly and accurately, conceptualise at a high level
- Numeracy - affinity with numbers
- Team player, well-structured, autonomous and flexible - no-nonsense attitude, able to work seamlessly within the team and in broader project teams across the Group, adhere to tight deadlines and ability to work under pressure / stress resistant
- Strong inter-personal and influencing skills - able to quickly establish a rapport
- Gravitas - proven track record to operate comfortably with senior (external) stakeholders
- Strong affinity with financial markets, and a keen interest in following developments across the banking sector, financial services industry, regulation and macroeconomic environment
- An understanding of investor perspectives, market expectations, valuation drivers and shareholder returns
- Ability to travel
- Languages - fluency in written and spoken English essential
Who you will work with
You will work in close cooperation with multiple lines of business, at head office and country level, as well as Group staff departments, including Finance, Risk Management, Group Treasury, Media Relations, Legal, Corporate Development and Sustainability.
Our Hiring Process
The Head of IR will compile a short list based on the objective criteria above. The shortlisted candidates will then go through an interview process with key stakeholders. Reference checks will also be part of the process. Please note that due to 2Q2026 reporting timelines, the interviews will be scheduled not earlier than mid-August.
