Traffic Engineer - Roads

Job Description

Overview

The Traffic Engineer supports the preparation, review, and implementation of traffic engineering designs, traffic control plans, and safety measures for road infrastructure projects.

Your role

• Prepare traffic layouts, detour plans, signal timings, and signage plans.
• Conduct traffic surveys, volume counts, speed studies, and level‑of‑service (LOS) analysis.
• Review contractor proposals for traffic control and temporary road layouts.
• Ensure traffic management measures comply with regulations and project specifications.
• Support planning of lane closures and road safety arrangements.
• Monitor site implementation of traffic control devices and safety measures.
• Participate in coordination meetings with consultants and authorities.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and engineering recommendations.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering.
• 5–10 years traffic engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of traffic modeling tools (e.g., SIDRA, Synchro—optional).
• Familiar with MUTCD and local traffic safety regulations.
• Strong design, reporting, and coordination skills.
