We are currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Engineer for our Laurel, DE location. Please note: This position requires the ability to work nights and weekends, as necessary, and serves as the initial point of contact for facility alarm response after hours.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for general building and grounds maintenance, including facility alarms, vehicle shuttling, snow removal, and recycling. The role ensures the smooth operation, reliability, and safety of machinery, equipment, and systems within the organization.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Professionally communicate and coordinate all company outsourced maintenance projects covering multiple locations. Provide multiple estimates, when applicable and coordinate routine maintenance schedule, presenting and collaborating with the executive team when needed.
- Maintain and/or provide diagnostics of industrial and domestic equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
- Participate in emergency drills, environmental safety activities, and third-party facility inspections as requested.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for facility alarm response after hours.
- Communicate with all outside vendors regarding services and maintenance supply order needs.
- Perform all maintenance duties in buildings and/or on surrounding properties to include, but not limited to, light fixtures, plumbing, painting, minor HVAC, minor electrical etc.
- Must be able to work indoors in a warehouse environment which is subject to temperature changes not easily controlled by heating or air conditioning.
- Communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking in the English language.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the maintenance field.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass initial and quarterly MVRs.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
- Knowledge of the challenges and strengths of a business industrial environment.
- Strong customer focus, dependability, teamwork, and time management
- Equipment Maintenance and Documentation Skills.
- Working knowledge of excel, google, Microsoft software etc.
- Strong understanding and/or working knowledge of the following:
- Welding
- Carpentry
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Mechanical
- Possess good math skills.
- Must be able to use hand tools effectively.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as necessary.
- Ability to multitask with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
- Ability to work independently and be an initiative-taker.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time and maneuver effectively around warehouse/stores and warehouse/stores property.
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and/or twist frequently.
- Must be able to lift up to 500 lbs. safely and with assistance while moving merchandise into various positions without causing damage to merchandise or property.
The physical demands of this position are considered Heavy. Exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
