Description

Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is announcing an open vacancy for the position of HSE Engineer, responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety (OHS) and fire safety standards in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and NPA’s internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
•  Ensure full compliance with Ukrainian labour safety and fire protection laws, including regular updates in accordance with national changes.
•  Conduct and document mandatory OHS instructions (introductory, primary, repeated, unscheduled) for staff.
•  Prepare and maintain all required OHS and fire safety documentation, including orders, policies, procedures, instructions, and registers.
•  Organize periodic medical examinations for employees.
•  Participate in and support the workplace attestation process regarding working conditions.
•  Participate in the development of action plans, programs, and other measures aimed at improving working conditions and preventing occupational injuries.
•  Prepare documentation and carry out other activities required for obtaining permits, certifications, and other regulatory approvals.
•  Carry out internal audits, risk assessments, and regular workplace inspections.
•  Investigate incidents and develop corrective and preventive actions.
•  Cooperate with authorized state institutions and pass inspections.
•  Train and support staff on safety rules and fire protection regulations.
•  Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
Required Qualifications:
•  University degree in Occupational Safety, Fire Safety, or a related technical field.
•  Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
•  Solid knowledge of current Ukrainian legislation on labor protection and fire safety (Law of Ukraine “On Labor Protection”, Labor Code, Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine).
•  Experience in preparing and maintaining OHS/fire safety documentation.
•  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•  Good communication skills and ability to deliver safety instructions clearly.
•  Proficiency in Ukrainian (mandatory), English is an big advantage.
