The journey begins here - with Global- a 1st Flagship Company, where we are currently looking for a Ship Maintenance Safety Supervisor to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates daily safety, health, and environmental operations across assigned vessels, equipment, and facilities, ensuring compliance with NAVSEA requirements, environmental regulations, and the Contractor's Safety and Health Program Plan. Provides oversight of gas-free testing, safety inspections, hazardous material surveys, hot work, preservation activities, and contractor support services.
- Plans, prioritizes, assigns, and monitors the work of Safety personnel, ensuring inspections, corrective actions, staffing, and daily operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements while keeping management informed of significant issues and project status.
- Oversees the site's hazardous waste and hazardous material programs, ensuring regulatory documentation, waste profiles, manifests, transportation records, inspections, reporting, and environmental compliance requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Provides leadership, coaching, performance management, and employee development for assigned personnel while administering corrective actions and labor relations matters in accordance with company policies and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Reviews, approves, and oversees the preparation of safety reports, inspection reports, incident investigations, QA documentation, preventive maintenance records, discrepancy tracking, and corrective action closeout documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contract requirements.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience maritime waterfront safety, maritime environmental or safety & occupational health.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and other office software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Certified Asbestos Supervisor. HAZWOPER qualified. RADCON qualified. OSHA 10 Maritime card. Firewatch & PAI Qualified. Experience complying with OSHA, EPA, DOD, and Department of the Navy regulations. Knowledge of WMS. Experience with hazardous material and waste minimization procedures. Forklift operator. Trained in sampling and analysis of wastewater per OPNAVINST M-5090.1.

- Position requires a Trusted Agent Security Clearance.
