Lead Enterprise Software Engineer
Experience – 9 to 16 Years
Wolters Kluwer is seeking a Lead Enterprise Software Engineer to design and drive the evolution of enterprise-scale platform engineering capabilities, leveraging Infrastructure as Code, AI-augmented engineering practices, and automation at scale.
This role is responsible for defining how infrastructure and delivery systems are standardized, consumed, and governed across the organization, enabling a shift toward self-service platforms and spec-driven engineering models.
The Lead Engineer plays a critical role in transforming software delivery into a scalable, consistent, and automation-first model, embedded with AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & IaC Strategy
- Design and govern enterprise Terraform module libraries
- Define reusable infrastructure patterns and platform standards
- Enable self-service infrastructure consumption via pipelines and APIs
Spec-Driven Infrastructure
- Design and implement spec-driven infrastructure approaches
- Translate requirements into structured specifications (YAML/JSON)
- Enable automated IaC generation from specifications
- Ensure standardization, compliance, and scalability by design
CI/CD Platform Architecture
- Define and standardize delivery ecosystems using:
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI/CD
- Establish reusable pipeline frameworks and best practices
- Drive adoption of pipeline-first and GitOps-based delivery models
AI-Augmented Engineering
- Design and implement AI-assisted engineering workflows
- Define standards for:
- AI-generated code validation
- Prompt engineering practices
- Responsible AI usage
- Enable teams to adopt AI tools efficiently and safely
Cloud Platform & API Engineering
- Design scalable platform services across Azure and AWS
- Build APIs and automation layers for:
- Infrastructure provisioning
- Platform consumption
- Implement event-driven and serverless architectures
DevSecOps Governance
- Define and enforce:
- Policy-as-Code
- Security-by-design practices
- Compliance automation
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security and audit requirements
Leadership & Enablement
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives
- Mentor engineers in:
- IaC best practices
- AI-enabled development
- DevSecOps maturity
- Act as a technical advisor to engineering and leadership teams

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience
Experience
- 9+ years in software engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering
- Advanced expertise in Terraform and IaC architectures
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools:
- Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD
- Experience designing scalable cloud solutions in Azure and AWS
- Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives
AI Capability
- Experience designing AI-augmented development workflows
- Ability to define:
- Validation standards for AI outputs
- Prompt engineering frameworks
- Understanding of LLM integration and responsible AI practices
