Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Road Marking Specialist, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.47 - £22.02 per hour
Summary:
The Road Marking Specialist will be responsible for carrying out road and surface marking works across the highway network, ensuring all markings are applied safely, accurately, and in accordance with highway specifications. The role involves operating specialist road marking equipment, setting up traffic management, maintaining vehicles and machinery, and supporting winter maintenance and emergency call-out services.
Responsibilities:
- Apply permanent and temporary road markings using specialist materials and equipment.
- Operate and maintain road marking vehicles, machinery, and hand tools, ensuring all safety checks are completed.
- Set up and remove temporary traffic management in accordance with highway safety regulations.
- Prepare road surfaces, remove old markings, and complete accurate records of completed works.
- Support winter maintenance operations and participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
Essentials:
- Previous experience in road marking or highway maintenance.
- Ability to operate road marking machinery and equipment safely.
- Good knowledge of highway health and safety procedures and traffic management.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow site specifications.
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake physically demanding work.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
- Full UK driving licence.
