Technical Support Group Representative
Weir ESCO, Johannesburg

Purpose of Role: As a TSG Representative, you'll be the person our customers from across Africa turn to for technical problem solving. You'll leverage your in-depth knowledge of our products, fabrication methods and on-site support experience to help ESCO's customers with their toughest technical challenges. You'll also use your project management skills to manage both local and international fabrication projects, collaborating with our global engineering teams as the project owner, coordinating between sales, fabrication facilities, and designers.

Key Responsibilities:
- On-site customer technical support for Weir ESCO products across the Africa region, including GET-related fault finding, reporting, solution implementation, and immediate customer assistance.
- Commissioning of Weir ESCO buckets and lips, including problem resolution, warranty claims, defining scope of work, coordination of repairs, and quality inspections.
- Project management and quality inspection of bucket and lip fabrications at local and international fabrication facilities.
- Liaison with international engineering teams and TSG colleagues on customer issues, warranties, and product optimisations, as well as providing technical support to the sales team on ESCO products.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Qualified Technical Tradesperson: Boilermaker / Welder / Pipe Fitter / Diesel Mechanic.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fabrication and/or mining environment conducting and overseeing quality inspections, as well as providing technical support to customers.
- Proven project management experience.
