Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Urologist to join its team serving the Central Maine region. The Urologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats diseases and conditions involving the kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra, adrenal glands, and male reproductive organs. They provide both medical and surgical care for patients of all ages

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat urinary tract and male reproductive system disorders.
• Perform physical examinations and review patient medical histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Perform surgeries, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Treat conditions such as:
• Kidney stones
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Bladder disorders
• Prostate enlargement and prostate cancer
• Kidney cancer
• Bladder cancer
• Male infertility
• Erectile dysfunction
• Urinary incontinence
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients about preventive care and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of a urology residency program
• State medical license
• Board certification or eligibility in urology (depending on employer requirements)
• Strong surgical and clinical skills
