Job Description:
TD’s Marketing team includes over 650 professionals across North America. The Marketing Strategic Operations team plays a critical role in enabling Marketing to operate with clarity, confidence, discipline, and speed. The team supports the overall marketing strategy and measurement across Marketing and delivers on the colleague experience, including enabling capabilities to drive efficiency, learning & development, business management, operational governance, and supports cross-functional delivery across Marketing.
Job Profile Summary
The Senior Manager, Colleague Experience & Business Management will lead one of the key pillars within the colleague experience strategy, specifically, the strategy, evolution, and delivery of the Marketing Academy. The Marketing Academy is critical to the growth and development of our Marketing colleagues across disciplines and will play a foundational role as we continue to evolve the Marketing function to become a destination for Marketers and elevate Marketing outcomes. This role will be accountable for shaping a cohesive, future-ready learning ecosystem from colleague onboarding to ongoing role-based learning and skill development to defining and delivering on our talent growth and acceleration strategy.
In addition, the Senior Manager will provide leadership for selected Business Management and Operations activities that enable the Marketing function to operate effectively as required. For example Customer & Employee Impact Team (CEIT) readiness, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), onboarding / offboarding for colleagues, etc.
The successful candidate will understand what it means to be a strategic marketer, understand the marketing process, and have the ability to define and deliver on learning outcomes. The candidate will be curious, and a strong operator with a learning mindset who has the ability to collaborate and build relationships to translate key objectives and priorities into practical learning experiences, operational routines, and measurable outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
1. Lead the Marketing Academy Strategy and Roadmap
Own the ongoing strategy, roadmap, and operating model for Marketing Academy,
Lead the structured annual learning plan that connects Marketing fundamentals, core competencies and role-based capability development.
Partner with senior leaders, subject matter experts, HR, L&D, Marketing teams, and external partners to identify priority capability gaps and translate them into practical learning journeys.
Lead the design, development, planning, and execution of high-impact learning experiences and resources that help marketers apply learning in their day-to-day work.
Oversee the colleague experience for all new hires through established Marketing Academy programming such as new hire orientation, colleague success onboarding, and Marketing fundamentals.
Ensure learning content reflects TD Marketing priorities and helps marketers understand how their work drives customer experience, business outcomes, brand strength, and growth.
2. Lead Continuous Improvement Discipline and Talent Growth
Provide strategic oversight of the Marketing Academy measurement and insights framework, using performance data, stakeholder feedback, and business outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform future priorities.
Shape the evolution of the Academy by identifying opportunities to enhance capability development, increase organizational impact, and align learning investments with changing business and workforce needs.
Lead the development and implementation of a talent acceleration approach in support ongoing learning and development of Marketing Talent
3. Lead Business Management and Operations Enablement
Provide strategic oversight of Marketing Business Management and Operations functions, ensuring key programs—including Business Continuity, CEIT readiness, premises support, onboarding/offboarding,—effectively enable business objectives and organizational resilience.
Drive continuous improvement across the Marketing operating environment by advancing scalable, sustainable, and well-governed practices through stakeholder partnership, process optimization, and risk management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
Develop, communicate and implement a holistic strategy for own specific business management function in support of and integrated with the overall business strategy
Oversee / lead / manage and plan a work activity that may require alignment across multiple areas
Lead the team in the development and/or integrated implementation of policies / processes / procedures / changes across multiple functional areas
Lead partner to management and respective teams for area of specialization with industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness; recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying issues and opportunities and recommending action to senior management
Act as a strategic partner by leading relationships with key enterprise partners and interfacing with respective leadership team to effectively manage own business management area and clarify scope of accountabilities while influencing and aligning others as needed
Ensure an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the overall function providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.
Forecast programs / initiatives and demand, and coordinate prioritization of the portfolio/ initiatives with key stakeholders
Provide functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and executive management direction
SHAREHOLDER
Ensure team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall business management activities
Lead relationships with corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
Assess / identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management where required
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite
Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues per enterprise policy / guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed
Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets).
Work closely with key business leaders to optimize TDBG’s resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
May lead relevant governance meetings or committees and related deliverables / outcomes representing the business on governance and control issues
Manage oversight process, risk-based identification and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance across the supported functions, while ensuring key controls and processes are effectively managed
Oversee or lead the facilitation and/or implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues

Oversee and lead a large and/or highly complex, and diverse business management function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope
Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals
Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
