Lead and manage the overall interface management strategy across the airport development program.
Establish interface management procedures, workflows, tools, reporting mechanisms, and maintain the Interface Management Plan and interface registers.
Provide leadership and guidance to interface engineers and project stakeholders, ensuring effective identification, tracking, and closure of all project interfaces.
Coordinate technical interfaces between civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, ICT/ELV, airfield systems, AGL, utilities, security, and specialist airport systems.
Identify potential design conflicts, scope gaps, and coordination issues; facilitate technical workshops to resolve complex interface challenges.
Ensure design solutions are coordinated and aligned across all disciplines.
Manage interfaces associated with passenger terminals, concourses, runways, taxiways, cargo facilities, aircraft aprons and stands, roads and external infrastructure, utility networks, and airport operational systems.
Ensure seamless integration between airside and landside infrastructure and between buildings, infrastructure, and operational systems to support operational readiness.
Act as the key interface point between the client, airport operator, delivery partner teams, design consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, specialist suppliers, and government authorities.
Establish effective communication channels, lead interface coordination meetings, and ensure timely resolution of stakeholder interface issues.
Develop, maintain, and monitor the project interface register, tracking requirements, responsibilities, actions, and closure status.
Identify critical interfaces that may impact schedule, cost, quality, or operational readiness; prepare interface status reports and dashboards and escalate unresolved risks with mitigation recommendations.
Review design submissions from an interface perspective and ensure construction activities are coordinated between contractors and disciplines.
Support resolution of site interface issues, RFIs, technical queries, and design changes; coordinate temporary works, sequencing, and access requirements.
Support BIM-based interface coordination and digital engineering workflows; review federated models, coordinate clash detection, and support CDE processes.
Ensure interface information is accurately captured within project information systems.
Identify interface-related risks and develop mitigation strategies; assess impacts on project delivery and operations.
Support interface risk workshops and constructability reviews, capture lessons learned, and promote proactive interface management practices.
Prepare interface management reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, and technical records.
Maintain accurate records of interface agreements, decisions, and approvals; support handover documentation and ensure all critical interfaces are formally closed before completion.
