Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Data Science in our Product Data Analytics team, based in Lisbon , Portugal.

Reports to: Director/ VP Data Science and Analytics

Team overview:
Product Data & Analytics is a centralized global team that enables Mastercard product business units to make better data‑driven decisions. We build internal analytics partnerships that strengthen focus on business performance, portfolio and revenue optimization, initiative tracking, new product development, and go‑to‑market strategies. These capabilities are underpinned by our data platforms that enable insights to be delivered in a standardized, scalable, and cost‑efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Data Analysts, Senior Data Scientists, and Business Analysts.
o Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
o Ensure the team meets performance targets and contributes effectively to the department’s goals.
• Data Analytics & Strategy:
o Develop and execute a comprehensive data analytics & infrastructure strategy
o Leverage data analytics to drive insights, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
o Ensure the delivery of high-quality analytical solutions that meet business needs and enhance market competitiveness.
• Project Management
o Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data analytics projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
• AI Advanced Analytics & Innovation:
o Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics models, including predictive and prescriptive analytics, to solve complex business problems.
o Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science and analytics to drive innovation within the team.
• Stakeholder Management:
o Collaborate with senior leadership, to align analytics initiatives with overall business objectives.
o Communicate complex data insights and analytical solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholder

All About You
• 9+ years experience in Data Science, Data Analytics . Business Insights
• Coach, train and mentor team on data analytics solutions
• Strong knowledge of latest AI/ML technologies and trends, including various libraries and tools
• Experience across data analytics project lifecycle - data management, data mining, data analytics, data reporting, data product development
• Translate business requirements into tangible solution specifications and high quality, on time deliverables
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI
• Experience with Hadoop environments, SQL, Python
• Excellent problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills
• Team player, excellent communication skills
• Must be able to interact with management, senior stakeholders and collect requirements
Education
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field) is highly preferred.
