Role Description:

The Sales Analyst role is the sales support role within the Global Trade Finance line of business, accountable to provide support to Sales Professionals in ultimate support of the end client. The role is responsible for delivering effective sales support to the sales teams by acting as the day-to-day sales contact for the client for sales related questions and by providing support for pre and post sales activities such as document completion, requests for information and presentation collateral. This role is accountable for providing the coordination of trade finance client onboarding, financial transaction set-up and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

• Providing exceptional customer service to Global Trade Finance clients. Aiding the Global Trade team in sales prep such as: client research, account metrics, deck drafts and prospect/client files in planning client/prospect meetings

• Compile pre-call and post call information packages for appropriate client analysis, ensuring the global trade team has the information necessary to be knowledgeable about the clients/prospects business and needs.

• Complete due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships. May include client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.

• Acts as the day-to-day sales support for sales related questions such as product information, pricing, and execution requirements.

• Assist with sales and service administration and processing ensuring client experience is seamless and opportunities are identified and met.

• Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.

• Responsible for timely execution as committed to the client. Ensures once completed, the client is provided with all required documentation.  

• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Qualifications:

As an Analyst you will be part of a dynamic environment. We are looking for highly motivated, mature individuals with:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s degree program with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027;

• A minimum GPA of 3.4/4.0;

• Outstanding academic, achievement and peer recognition;

• Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities;

• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills;

• Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint;

• Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for presenting and writing reports;

• Detail oriented, demonstrates initiative, prioritizes work, multi-tasks effectively

• Highly motivated, fast learner, able to work with limited supervision and adapt to frequent market, systems, and process changes;

• Strong interpersonal skills; collaborative and team player able to work effectively in small groups;

• Knowledgeable in the principles of finance and the financial markets;

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;

• Previous banking or credit risk management experience an asset.

Supports the origination and structuring of corporate lending transactions, and coordinates with other products as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. Includes providing lending expertise for a variety of sectors, establishing credit facilities to support trading products business and facilitating credit approvals in support of Trade Finance products. Cross sells Corporate Banking products (e.g. FX / treasury products, cash management & corporate cards, commodities, investment management, securitization, leasing, Trade Finance products, etc.) to BMO Capital Market clients. Also provides ongoing management of the lending portfolio.

Qualifications:

• Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Undergraduate degree has academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with an outstanding academic achievement.
• Has financial analysis training and experience.
• Has up to 3 years of relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking unit.
• Excellent analytical skills. Highly skilled in building complex financial models.
• Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
• Skilled in creating statistical presentations.
• Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Please note the salary for this specific position is $80,000. ​

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
