Description
The Registrar assumes primary responsibility for the leadership, management and administrative functions of the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar works collaboratively with the Provost, Admissions, Business Office, Academic Advising, General Education, etc. to ensure that effective records and registration policies and procedures are implemented.
The Registrar provides leadership, staff supervision, organization, planning in the use of college's student information system, registration and related student service administration.

- To keep the offices running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
- To provide good customer service to all college constituents.
- To ensure the college stays in compliance with all academic record related functions.
- To keep the college's catalog and curriculum updated and functional.
Management of the Registrar's Office 25%
- Manage Associate Registrar, Assistant Registrar, support staff and student workers.
- Manage course registration for all students including the Drop/Add periods.
- Oversee the coordination of the transfer articulation process including awarding of credit to students.
- Oversee the operation of the Registrar’s Office in managing the retention, retrieval, security, integrity and privacy of all permanent academic records for all current and former York College students in accordance with college policies, the ACCRAO guidelines, the requirements of accrediting agencies, federal and state laws, and FERPA compliance.
- Oversee the Veteran benefits certification process and ensure compliance with federal funding laws.
Curriculum, Computer Programming, and Policy Related Duties 75%
- Prepare and maintain the Schedule of Classes in conjunction with all the academic departments including classroom assignments, course cancellations along with the coordination of roster verification process and identification of “no show” students.
- Membership on the Academic Programs Committee of the Academic Senate. Assist academic departments with curriculum development and implementation. Program all course, major and minor changes into the Ellucian/Banner catalog system.
- Create, revise and implement both majors and minors in the CAPP Degree Audit system and adjust student records accordingly using the CAPP Substitution, Target and Waiver forms.
- Maintain and revise both the graduate and undergraduate online catalogs in Acalog on an annual basis under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management.
- Communicate regularly with the Associate Provost for Curriculum and General Education to keep information accurate on the college web site, college catalog, handouts, etc.
- Produce enrollment status reports such as: The Trends in Enrollment report, Overload Notes Total report, Drop/Add figures.
- Implementation and maintenance of Infosilem scheduling software.
- Coordinate curriculum updates into the Starfish degree planner each academic year.
- Coordinate classes and registration for iDesign online students and special populations of students.
- Organize, plan, distribute and publish college calendar for fall, spring and summer semesters for all academic levels.
- Facilitate degree audit credit check process twice a year with Academic Advising.
- Collaborate with key offices on campus to foster student success and retention.
- Master's Degree required, in higher education preferred.
- Computer and systems knowledge (Ellucian/Banner and Starfish, preferred).
- Related experience in college setting with academic policies, procedures, and curriculum.
- Very strong organizational skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sensitivity to the confidential nature of the academic record.
- Ability to prioritize and handle several tasks at the same time and conform to deadlines.
