As the Director of Software Engineering for Platform & Infrastructure, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical foundation that empowers our global engineering organization. This is a strategic leadership role where you will collaborate to define infrastructure strategy, pioneer developer productivity at scale, and partner with executive leadership to modernize how we build, deploy, and operate systems.

You will lead, scale, and inspire a distributed team of engineers. Your mission is to eliminate developer friction, champion cloud-native evolution, and ensure our systems are relentlessly scalable, secure, and reliable.

Strategic Infrastructure and Platform Evolution

• Shape the Strategy: Partner with engineering leadership to help define and execute the roadmap for infrastructure unification, establishing modern operational standards across the entire global organization.

• Modernize Architecture: Drive our continued evolution toward cloud-native, containerized, and highly orchestrated environments.

• Scale Distributed Systems: Ensure our core data and messaging layers are optimized for global scale.

• Remove Friction: Lead developer productivity engineering to drastically reduce cycle times across build, test, deploy, and observability workflows.

• Elevate Quality: Ensure that technical decisions inherently support world-class performance, reliability, availability, and security without sacrificing developer velocity.

Talent Leadership and Team Growth

• Grow the Organization: Coach, mentor, and elevate engineering managers and technical leaders, building a sustainable leadership pipeline within your organization.

• Global Talent Acquisition: Drive hiring strategies to attract, retain, and diverse top-tier engineering talent.

• Foster Collaboration: Champion a high-trust, productive feedback culture where engineers are empowered to speak up, experiment, and challenge the status quo.

Who Are You

• Experienced Leader: 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years managing teams (managing through managers).

• Global Scale Mindset: Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across distributed teams in Australia, North America, and Europe.

• Bias for Action: Demonstrated track record of driving complex, ambiguous initiatives from conception through production.

• Cloud-Native & Platform Architecture: Expertise in the architecture, operation, and evolution of large-scale, cloud-native SaaS infrastructure. Proficient with containerization, orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.

• Edge & Network Infrastructure: Hands-on experience optimizing global performance and security using modern edge platforms like Cloudflare.

• Systems Engineering: A strong technical foundation building at scale. Ability to evaluate system design tradeoffs, conduct high-level code reviews, and identify application weaknesses.

(Pay Transparency Range: $207,000.00 - $311,000.00)

Compensation Transparency

The national base salary range for this role is posted above in this job post.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location. We also consider internal equity to help ensure fair and consistent pay practices across our teams.

Where applicable, this role may also be eligible for variable compensation (such as bonus or commission), equity, and benefits in accordance with local policies.
