Job Responsibilities:
Required Education/Certification/Licensure:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school certification as an Industrial/Electrician/Millwright or Industrial/Mechanic preferred.
- Journey worker certification preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a powered industrial truck and aerial lift (testing and certification to be administered by Magna Seating Detroit).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical (up to 480 volt), PLC (Allen Bradley preferred), and robotic systems (Fanuc preferred).
- Fabrication experience, including blueprint reading/interpretation, machining (lathe, Bridgeport, and bandsaw), and welding.
- Ability to interpret & apply measurements in both the Imperial and Metric systems; ability to use measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and measuring tape.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read/understand ladder logic PLC systems preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
- Basic computer skills, including e-mail management and task management software.
- Ability to work in a team environment; good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work under limited supervision.
