Framing Carpenter

About the Framer (Rough Carpenter) positionWe are looking for a Carpenter to join our framing crew in building new construction residential homes, working with wooden structures such as cutting, fabricating and installing, in strict accordance with specifications.You should possess great hand dexterity and an eye for detail, being able to work with little supervision and follow all health and safety standards. We also expect you to have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Key Responsibilities Are:Ability to use basic and intermediate hand tools and power tools/machineryAccurately measure distances and/or materials such as boards, timbers, plywood, etc.Anchor and brace forms and other structures in placeAssemble and fasten material together to construct wood and/or metal frameworkBasic math skillsCut or saw materials to required size using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machineEnsure measurements are accurate and material is plumb/levelExamine structural timbers, supports, and other materials to detect decay (or other defects) and replace materials as required.Install rough door and window frames, subflooring, and temporary supports as neededRead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and various layoutsExceptional written and oral communication (English)Significant experience in working with carpentry materials and equipment (such as hand tools, power tools, etc.)In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Other Requirements Are:Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust be reliable, punctual, and have strong work ethicMust have reliable transportation to and from job site(s)Good physical condition and enduranceRequires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditionsRequires exposure to high placesMust own or be willing to obtain relevant tools Shift Details:Monday - FridayMonday - Thursday: 7am - 4pmFriday: 7am - 12pmNo nights / no weekends Compensation:Starting pay based on experience ($20-25 typical)Merit-based pay increases
