About the Position

We’re seeking a Senior Scheduler to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit (bus and rail), aviation (international airports), and water/wastewater projects delivered through both traditional and alternative delivery methods. Your main focus will be developing, maintaining, and reporting on schedules for a portfolio of public infrastructure rebuild capital projects valued at approximately $800M, giving program leadership a clear, defensible picture of where every project stands from design through closeout.

This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop critical path method (CPM) baseline schedules for rebuild capital projects and maintain them through regular updates from design through construction and closeout.
  • Build and maintain an integrated master program schedule across multiple concurrent projects, giving leadership a single view of portfolio status, critical path, and key milestones.
  • Review contractor baseline schedules, monthly updates, and recovery schedules for compliance with contract requirements, and flag logic, float, and progress issues before they become delays.
  • Incorporate outside schedule drivers, including community meetings, partner agency concurrent work, and funding source requirements, into project and program schedules.
  • Prepare and evaluate time impact analyses and delay claims, and recommend entitlement and time extensions supported by schedule evidence.
  • Perform resource loading and cost loading, and support earned value reporting.
  • Produce schedule narratives, look-ahead schedules, milestone reports, and executive-level summaries, and present schedule status to management.
  • Coordinate with project managers, design consultants, contractors, and partner agencies to identify schedule risks and develop mitigation options.

Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.
  • Natural curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities across a multi-project portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of project scheduling experience on public capital or construction projects, including 5+ years planning and scheduling public works projects from design through construction and closeout.
  • Proven ability to develop CPM baseline schedules and maintain them through regular updates.
  • Experience building and maintaining an integrated master program schedule across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience reviewing contractor baseline schedules, monthly updates, and recovery schedules for contract compliance, and incorporating outside drivers such as community commitments, partner agency work, and funding constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and evaluate time impact analyses and delay claims.
  • Experience performing resource loading and cost loading and supporting earned value reporting.
  • Track record preparing schedule narratives, look-ahead schedules, milestone reports, and executive-level summaries for management audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture.
  • AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification.
  • 15+ years of project scheduling experience on public capital or construction projects.
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery or post-disaster rebuild programs.
  • Experience scheduling projects delivered through design-build, CM/GC, progressive design-build, or other alternative delivery methods.
  • Experience with Deltek Acumen Fuse, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, or similar schedule quality and risk analysis software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software.
