WSO2 API Manager Administrator in Stockholm, Sweden

We are looking for an experienced WSO2 API Manager Administrator to join our client's technology team in Stockholm, Sweden. This permanent position offers a hybrid working model and the opportunity to support critical API infrastructure for one of Sweden's largest retail organizations.

This is an opportunity to work with modern cloud infrastructure, enterprise API management, and emerging AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

What will you do?

• Administer and maintain WSO2 API Manager environments across development, staging, and production.
• Configure and manage WSO2 components, including Gateway, Publisher, Developer Portal, Key Manager, and Traffic Manager.
• Integrate third-party identity providers and key managers, such as Keycloak, Okta, and Curity.
• Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot WSO2 installations on Linux-based virtual machines and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Manage Kubernetes configurations, including scaling, ingress, storage, and monitoring.
• Onboard and govern LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic, with rate limiting, throttling, and usage tracking.
• Configure, secure, and maintain MCP servers and troubleshoot MCP client-server integrations.
• Implement API security, authentication, authorization, and governance policies.
• Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize platform reliability.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD, automation, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with WSO2 API Manager (3.x or 4.x).
• Strong understanding of WSO2 architecture, core components, and third-party key manager integrations.
• Experience with Linux administration, VM deployments, databases, load balancing, and high availability.
• Practical knowledge of Azure AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, networking, and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs, token-based throttling, streaming, and API gateway integration.
• Strong knowledge of MCP architecture, including client-server communication, tool discovery and invocation, transport protocols, and endpoint security.
• Solid understanding of OAuth2, JWT, API security, and certificate management.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills, with a focus on reliability and uptime.

Nice to have:

• WSO2 certifications or experience with WSO2 Identity Server/Micro Integrator.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or custom WSO2 mediators.
• Experience developing MCP servers using Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• Familiarity with AI agents, prompt engineering, and API monetization.
