About the Role
The Civil Engineer provides professional civil engineering services to support the delivery, performance, and growth of infrastructure projects within SMEC Solomon Islands. The role involves undertaking design calculations, preparing technical reports, managing project delivery requirements, and supporting client engagement and business development activities. The position also contributes to technical excellence, compliance with environmental and social standards, and continuous professional development while ensuring projects meet client expectations and organizational objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Civil Engineering)
- Professional Membership of Engineering Body
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering (preferably in PNG or similar environment)
- Male or female
- Good communication in English Language
Job Descriptions
- Deliver civil engineering outputs including reports, design calculations, and documentation.
- Manage and coordinate project activities in line with client and company requirements.
- Provide technical outputs aligned with environmental, social, and quality standards.
- Support business development initiatives including proposals and marketing activities.
- Supervise and guide drafting and technical support staff where required.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to successful project delivery.
Has the demonstrated ability to consistently:
- Good conceptual understanding of technical subjects
- Basics Knowledge Preparation of Bill of Quantities
- Basics knowledge on civil, structural and geotechnical design.
- Utilise good time management skills with the ability to plan workloads and meet deadlines;
- Effectively work across a variety of projects learning new skills and knowledge quickly and efficiently;
