SUMMARY

The Department of Orthopedics at Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing, collaborative orthopedic team at UMMC. As an integral member of the practice, you will partner closely with experienced orthopedic surgeons and a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care. This is an excellent opportunity to build a broad orthopedic skill set through a combination of clinic, surgical first assist, inpatient care, and perioperative management. SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; Days & occasional weekends

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage operative and non-operative orthopedic conditions
• Independently manage patients in the outpatient clinic and develop treatment plans
• First assist in orthopedic surgical cases and provide perioperative care
• Provide inpatient orthopedic coverage and manage acute patient needs
• Participate in APP first-call coverage and required weekend rotation
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, and perform procedures such as joint injections
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and the multidisciplinary care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care

RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - NYS Office of Professions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE:

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00Batavia14020

The posted pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for this position. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates could vary based on position details and FTE. Pay is determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, locations, and contracts.
