As a Creative Technologist for THE·TEAM, you'll prototype and experiment with cutting-edge technologies to bring innovative ideas to life. You will blend creativity and technology, built on a solid foundation in front-end development (TypeScript), back-end development (Python, node.js, Go), and AI technologies. Your love for hardware, interfaces, and experimental UI, combined with server-side experience with Google Cloud, will be a major plus. You’ll be a maker who loves to peek under the hood of AI and push the boundaries. You’ll move beyond perfect prompting, to bridge the gap between research and beautiful pieces of animation. Whether you are a designer who’s learned to love Python or a coder with an eye for motion, you will thrive in the creative "grey area" of emerging tech. You’ll turn technical glitches into art and build the tools that help others create. You’ll create social-first concepts and extend major brand campaigns across social platforms. You stay on top of online trends and know how to turn them into creative advertising. Backgrounds in copywriting, art direction, or filmmaking are all welcome.
JOB OVERVIEW:
We're looking for a Creative Technologist to join The Team’s social creative team supporting Gemini social and influencer marketing— a group of thinkers and makers defining how AI can creatively and meaningfully engage with the world.
As a Creative Technologist, you live at the intersection of design, engineering, and culture. You dream alongside creatives, build what you dream, and then bring those ideas to the world — teaching, connecting, and evangelizing what's possible at the frontier of AI and social. You are the bridge between ambitious internal ideas and the broader developer and creator community, as much as you are between concept and working code.
The right person for this role is entrepreneurial at heart, with a healthy disrespect for the impossible. You are resourceful under pressure, fluent in creative and technical language, equally comfortable in a code editor and on a stage, and energized by absurdly ambitious timelines.
** Please note this is a temporary position through the end of 2026 with option to renew at the end of the calendar year.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Ideate & Prototype: Collaborate with strategists and creatives to brainstorm and then rapidly build interactive prototypes, technical proofs-of-concept, and social-first experiments.
- Creator Enablement & Briefings: Assist with leading technical briefings for creator partners producing content powered by Gemini, educating them on capabilities, workflows, and novel features. Review partner concepts and content to identify high-impact, feasible use cases and ensure top-tier execution.
- Innovate with AI: Explore and implement the latest advancements in AI/ML — particularly Large Language Models, generative tools, and the Gemini API via Google AI Studio — to inspire novel social experiences.
- Technology Scouting: Stay at the leading edge of emerging technologies, social behaviors, and digital art — and translate those signals into actionable creative ideas for Android and Google Play.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Gemini Marketing to launch experiments and identify partners who can scale successful innovations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Fluency in one or more general-purpose languages: Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, Ruby, or PHP
- Hands-on experience building with the Google Gemini app, Antigravity, the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, including prompt engineering and LLM-based application development
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, generative tools, and how to apply them in creative and social contexts
- Experience building web and interactive experiences: three.js, WebGL, or comparable
- Comfort working within Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with API integration — connecting services, webhooks, and third-party platforms
- Comfort presenting at and assisting with workshops at creator-focused events, running workshops, writing technical content, or engaging developer and creator communities
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro) a plus
Base salary range: $175-200K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role.
