Raytheon Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) is seeking a Test Pilot for our new B737-800 Next Generation Testbed to join Flight Test Operations (FTO) team. This position is responsible for supporting multiple functions in the planning and execution of manned flight test missions for our newest test platform that will replace our B727 Raytheon Multi-program Testbed (RMT). The test pilot role will also support flight test planning and execution across our FTO test platforms to include our Challenger 601. Primary responsibilities involve coordination with engineering and maintenance, subject matter expertise for flight test planning, mission execution, flight operations oversight, and coordination activities for flight test deployments. This position is an onsite role based in Ontario, California with occasional travel to support RTX flight test programs.
What You Will Do
- Plan and coordinate flight test missions involving military ranges and FAA airspace
- Conduct internal flight test readiness evaluations and coordinate customer airworthiness audits
- Lead mission planning, coordination briefings, and contribute to test reporting
- Coordinate aircraft maintenance activities and liaison with subcontracted support team
- Qualify and maintain currency for Raytheon FTO test aircraft, including B737-800, CL601, B727-200, and C206 as a test pilot crew member
- Perform work in classified and SAP environments
- Travel up to 20% to CONUS/OCONUS test ranges
- Typical flight test deployments are 1–2 weeks to support classified flight testing of RTX programs
- Typical travel sites include Eglin AFB, FL; Nelis AFB, NV, Tucson, AZ; Cedar Rapids, IA.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
- Boeing 737 and operational or military test pilot experience
- Flight test experience within the last 10 years.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate and ability to hold an FAA First Class medical and Airline Transport Pilot certificate
- 1,500 hours pilot time with a minimum of 500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC). Applicants must also have 1,000 hours of turbine experience with multi-engine turbine experience desired
Qualifications We Prefer
- Graduate of military Test Pilot School, Weapons School, or equivalent formal course
- Advanced flying qualifications including Instructor Pilot or Flight Examiner
- Experience with large (>12.5K lbs) multi-engine turbine aircraft with onboard Mission Crew or tactical fighter test pilot experience
- Hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Experience leading a flight operations sub-organization or aircraft maintenance teams
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with flight test mission control rooms
- Experience working in classified programs

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
