The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. Description of Work

​​This position is classified as a Correction Enterprises Supervisor III. This position is located at the Nash Print Plant inside Nash Correctional Institution, specifically in the area of Bindery & Finishing. The applicant must have the technical and mechanical knowledge to operate, troubleshoot and train on production equipment. This includes cutting, folding, collating, binding, and finishing products manufactured within the facility, as well as preparing the finished products for delivery. This position will supervise and train offender workers in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a variety of printing equipment. The applicant must be able to demonstrate specific knowledge of printing production equipment in offset printing and/or letterpress printing.

The is a Certified position through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission, which means the selected candidate will also be accountable for the custody and supervision of inmates assigned to the plant. Duties include patrolling the plant and supervising production operations while ensuring the care, custody, and control of inmates in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $43,267 - $75,718

  • Documented production experience in a commercial printing environment including: offset printing, digital printing, letterpress, bindery, and prepress.
  • ​Experience in management of skilled workers and training of unskilled workers.
  • Experience with business-to-business customer service.

About Correction Enterprise

Correction Enterprises is a self-sustaining division of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction that operates more than 30 prison-based businesses. The program provides practical job training and skill development for incarcerated individuals, preparing them for reentry and employment. Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution, and three years of progressive law enforcement experience;

or

Equivalent combination of training and experience.


Necessary Special Requirements

Basic Law Enforcement Certification under North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission.

Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
