Structural Steel Welder | MIG / MAG / Flux Core Welder

Location: Risca, Newport
Permanent | PAYE | Days | £18.89 per hour

An established UK structural steel manufacturer is looking to recruit experienced Structural Steel Welders to join its team in Risca, Newport.

Working on major UK infrastructure and nuclear-related projects, this is a fantastic opportunity for experienced welders looking for long-term job security, excellent overtime opportunities and permanent employment.

Immediate weld tests available.

Pay and Hours

• £18.89 per hour (£36,835.50 basic per annum)

• Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm

• 37.5-hour working week

• Overtime paid up to double time (£37.78 per hour)

• Excellent overtime availability

• Permanent PAYE position

The Role

• MIG / MAG and Flux Core welding on heavy structural steel

• Positional Flux Core welding on structural steel components

• Completing multi-run fillet and butt welds

• Air arc gouging on heavy steel sections

• Welding to structural coded standards

• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings

• Maintaining high-quality welding and inspection standards

• Working on major infrastructure and nuclear-related projects

What We're Looking For

• Time-served or experienced Structural Steel Welder

• Strong background in heavy structural steel welding

• Confident with MIG / MAG welding processes

• Positional Flux Core welding experience required

• Air arc gouging experience required

• Experience completing multi-run welds on heavy-gauge steel

• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

• Previous coded welding experience advantageous

• Nuclear or highly regulated industry experience beneficial but not essential
