Description
Facelove is a pro-age, direct-to-consumer cosmetics brand for women over 45, selling in the US, Germany and the rest of Europe. We went from zero to millions in monthly revenue in a few months. We run our own paid media and creative production, email through our agency Oktober, Amazon through our agency Captens, and customer support in two languages.
Every ad, every email and every campaign ends on the store, so the store decides how much of that work turns into sales. Without this seat, launches slip and campaigns land on pages that aren't ready. Your days are in Shopify (theme editor, Liquid and CSS), Figma, Kaching, Vitals, Loop, AfterSell, Triple Whale and ClickUp, building launch pages, testing product pages and shipping the improvements on your own roadmap.
This is a role for someone who has run a Shopify store before and wants to own one. We want to compete with Thrive Causemetics, Tarte and Maybelline, and the store has to look and work at that level.
That doesn't happen by keeping the lights on. It happens when someone sees what the store should become and builds it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The job splits into three areas. Roughly 40% is launches and requests from the marketing calendar, 40% is conversion work and your own roadmap, and 20% is keeping the store healthy and the partners moving. The common thread is that nobody has to chase you.
Launches and the marketing calendar
- Every calendar item is ready for approval before its deadline. You set your own internal deadlines every Monday for the next four weeks: product launches 7 working days early, email campaign pages 5, discounts 3.
- Launch pages, collection pages and discounts across three markets. US first, then Germany, then Europe, in the right language on the page and in the images.
- Never break the store. Everything is built on a draft theme or duplicate template and QA'd on desktop and mobile before it goes live.
Conversion and your store roadmap
- One shipped A/B test every week, at least half on our direct-response product pages, each logged with a hypothesis, a result and a decision.
- A ranked roadmap of your own improvements, each with the problem, a benchmark brand, the expected impact and the effort. Navigation, product pages, checkout, help center, About Us: you spot it, propose it, design it in Figma, build it and measure it.
- Report the numbers every Friday: conversion rate, AOV and bounce per market, what you shipped and what it did.
Store health and partners
- Find problems before customers do. Weekly store audits, and same-day flags on anything that blocks a purchase.
- Keep policy and legal pages current, with any new wording approved before it goes live.
- Be the store contact for Oktober and Captens: campaign pages and discount codes for email, product and storefront images for Amazon.
You own the Facelove storefront in the US, Germany and Europe, and you make it better every week.
MUST HAVES
- 3+ years running a live Shopify store for a DTC brand: Owned launches, apps and theme changes on a store with real revenue, not one-off freelance theme jobs. Can name the store, the revenue range and what they shipped.
- Liquid and CSS in a Shopify theme: Builds and edits sections in code when the theme editor can't, scoped to the section. Works on duplicates and draft themes, never on the live theme.
- A/B testing and store analytics: Has shipped tests with a written hypothesis, main metric, result and decision. Reads CR, AOV and bounce in Shopify analytics, Triple Whale or GA4 and can show a before/after.
- Design to a premium beauty standard: A live page they designed in Figma (desktop and mobile) and built, that holds up next to Thrive Causemetics or Tarte.
- More than one market or language: Has run localized content, pricing or market-specific promotions across stores or Shopify Markets, and caught wrong-language leftovers before customers did.
- Shopify apps for bundles, reviews, subscriptions or post-purchase: Has set up and debugged at least two of these categories (Kaching or similar, Vitals or Judge.me, Loop or Recharge, AfterSell or ReConvert), including conflicts in cart.
- Planning back from a calendar: Can name a launch that was ready days before go-live because they set their own deadline, without anyone chasing.
- QA discipline: Has a pre-publish checklist they actually use: desktop and mobile, Add to Cart, variants, discounts, app behavior.
- Written English at a professional level: Clear approval requests, blocker flags and weekly reports. Most coordination with Oktober and Captens is written.
- Working hours: 09:00 to 18:00 CET, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour break, a reliable connection and a quiet workspace.
NICE TO HAVE
- Beauty or skincare DTC experience.
- Amazon product images, storefront or A+ content to an agency's requirements.
- AI image tools for product and model visuals, with an eye for what they get wrong.
- Shopify checkout customization with Checkout Blocks or checkout UI extensions.
- Reading German or Dutch well enough to spot a wrong-language leftover.
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF
- You need a ticket before you start. Half this job is projects nobody hands you.
- You've only ever edited themes through the editor and avoid Liquid.
- You treat launch day as the deadline. Here the deadline is when it's ready for approval, up to 7 working days earlier.
- You'd rather build than test. You'll ship a test every week and report the ones that lose.
- Revision rounds frustrate you. Every page goes through approval, and the bar is Thrive Causemetics, not good enough.
- You cannot commit to 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 CET.
HOW TO APPLY AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Apply through the form with the questions above. Put the words "Store Manager, Facelove" in the subject line or first field so we know you read the posting.
The process is four steps and takes about two weeks:
- Written screening (the form). Top ten move forward.
- Screening call with recruiter. Background, availability and expectations.
- Paid trial task, 3 to 4 hours, in a development store. Build a campaign section from a brief, write an A/B test plan and three roadmap proposals, and record a short approval Loom. Scored against the criteria above.
- Final call with the COO, then offer. You walk us through your trial build on screen.
PAID LEAVE
- 15 PTO days a year, from your first full month, accrued at 1.25 days a month.
- 10 paid holidays a year, the public holidays of your country of residence, from your start date.
- Requests go in writing at least 2 weeks ahead for a single day and 4 weeks ahead for 3 or more days. If you're sick, tell your manager at least an hour before your shift.
