The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a magnificent and storied hotel nestled in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia. Built in 1882, the Tudor-style hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers. Boasting a total of 329 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites, the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center offers a range of accommodation options to suit the needs of every guest.   In addition to its accommodations and dining options, the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center features exceptional facilities for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel boasts over 63,000 square feet of flexible event space, making it an ideal venue for conferences, weddings, and other special occasions. What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are seeking passionate Cooks who love creating exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. We have multiple opportunities available across our high‑volume kitchen. This requires flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed. 1 AM & 1PM Full-Time Banquet Cook – Hours for morning shift typically run from 6 am – 2 pm / 7am – 3pm Hours for night shift typically run from 12 pm to 8 am.

Essential Responsibilities

• Preparing menu items in accordance with the hotel’s established culinary standards and recipes.
• Delivering consistent, high‑quality dishes while maintaining a strong commitment to guest service.
• Upholding daily sanitation and safety practices as outlined in the hotel’s operational standards.

What are we looking for?

• At least 6 months to 1 year preferred culinary experience in a high‑volume, full‑service kitchen, or actively seeking a culinary education. At least 6 months of experience in full operational with willingness to learn.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards, along with knowledge of food products and kitchen equipment.
• Active food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain one.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Desire to exceed expectations.
• Energetic personality.
• Punctuality and reliability
