General Information/Job Summary

Responsibilities/Competencies
- Direct supervision of crew of 15-20 warehouse associates
- Constantly seeks ways to improve efficiency, quality and cost control where applicable
- Manage and direct all aspects of Pipe shop department.
- Lead the pipe group to meet key business objectives including safety, quality, productivity, delivery, etc.
- Ensure production and quality requirements are met in order to satisfy the customer base in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Lead, train, develop and mentor all departmental assigned team members
- Maintain discipline to procedures, in accordance with safety, quality, engineering, human resources, and finance department guidelines
- Overseeing the preventative maintenance of all operating equipment
- Assist with daily space planning for warehouse
- Assist with daily labor planning
- Oversee work duties and monitoring those work duties to maintain schedules
- Overseeing all applicable department rules and regulations and keeping within the department budget
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Drawings & Documentation
- Ability to read and interpret isometrics, spool sheets, cut lists, and weld maps
- Understanding of material traceability, including MTR review and heat number transfer
- Familiarity with weld logs and spool tracking
Fabrication & Welding
- Hands-on knowledge of GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and both duplex and super duplex
- Knowledge of fit-up tolerances, bevel prep, and dimensional control
Safety
- Strong knowledge of hot work, rigging, overhead crane, and forklift safety
- Track record of building a safety-first shop culture
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
- 10+ years in industrial pipe fabrication, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role (foreman, general foreman, or superintendent)
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.8, and B31.1 (Power Piping)
- Experience with robotic or fully automated welding process and procedures including fit-up sequencing, fit tolerances, and tack preparation
- Experience with welder qualifications & NDT requirements.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Must be able to train and coach staff on a regular basis
- Must be able to provide written reports and feedback
- Must be organized, detail oriented and team driven
- Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
- Bilingual a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to comprehend and manage effective labor cost control
