Location: Downtown Richmond, VA (Onsite)

Duration: Long-Term Contract (6-12 Months, Strong Potential for Extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for end users in a Microsoft-centric enterprise environment located in Downtown Richmond. This role is ideal for an IT professional with 3-6 years of experience who enjoys interacting directly with employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop, laptop, and peripheral support for end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, mobile device, and connectivity issues.
  • Respond to and manage support requests through ticketing systems, phone, email, and walk-up support.
  • Perform device deployments, imaging, upgrades, replacements, and workstation setups.
  • Support Microsoft technologies including Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Office applications.
  • Assist with user account administration, password resets, and basic Active Directory tasks.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document resolutions and maintain accurate support records.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Technical Support experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows desktops, laptops, and common end-user technologies.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, device imaging, hardware deployment, and user support.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a highly visible onsite support role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise environments with 100+ users.
  • Exposure to Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune, or endpoint management tools.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or related technical credentials.

What We Offer

  • Long-term contract opportunity with strong extension potential.
  • Stable part-time schedule (24-32 hours per week).
  • Collaborative Microsoft-focused technology environment.
  • Opportunity to provide high-impact, face-to-face support for a professional workforce.

Ideal Candidate: A customer-focused Desktop Support professional who enjoys being the "go-to" IT resource, excels at resolving end-user issues, and thrives in a hands-on onsite support environment.
