About this Position / Responsibilities
NFF Inc is seeking one Test Automation Engineer to support two strategic digital modernization initiatives: the Website Modernization Project and the SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project.
NFF Inc requires resources to build, test, and deploy components of the SmarTrip backend system to support website modernization. Planning, design, and implementation work for the frontend experience will be completed by a separate implementation vendor. The selected contractor will be provided with detailed requirements, architecture, and design documentation to develop the SmarTrip components needed to support the new website experience.
The SmarTrip Mobile app is a third-party developed mobile app on iOS and Android platforms for SmarTrip account management and transit product purchases. This project supports onboarding staff for SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 implementation, including application integration and deployment, development, configuration, testing, and code deployment to production environments for applicable SmarTrip components and dependencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Drive adoption of best practices for design, build, test, and performance.
- Work with development teams to design, develop, and execute scripts that validate test cases defined in project test plans with a high degree of confidence.
- Support automated functional testing across multiple messaging protocols, focusing on application flow and test result validation.
- Track and communicate task progress, status, and key performance metrics.
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging issues with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
- Communicate effectively across multiple teams and external vendors (Operations, Project Teams, Quality Service, etc.) and with developers, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers.
- Conduct troubleshooting and test execution in support of remediation efforts, as required.
- Analyze data and application changes and document impacts on performance automation tasks (test cases, scripting, scenario execution, etc.).
- Ensure test execution results fulfill defined test objectives.
- Ensure testing and monitoring tools/technologies are configured to align with test objectives and project team requirements.
- Maintain technical expertise through self-education in computer science, test automation, and quality assurance.
- Interface directly with DevOps and Infrastructure teams regarding functional test environments.
- Provide timely and accurate communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results.
- Successfully complete mandatory NFF Inc security awareness training on an annual basis.
- Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with relevant back-end programming languages, programming frameworks and tools, databases, and development platforms, including C#, .NET, and SQL or Oracle.
- At least 6 years of experience with test automation development using Selenium and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated functional testing experience, including test analysis.
