Schedule: Saturday & Sunday | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to provide professional coverage during weekend day shifts in Owensboro, KY. This position combines security monitoring with front-facing support, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional approach when assisting visitors, contractors, and authorized personnel.

The officer will serve as an important point of contact throughout the shift by managing incoming calls, supporting check-in procedures, monitoring security systems, and helping address routine client needs.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and attentive security presence throughout the assigned area.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
• Assist with the arrival and check-in of guests, contractors, and other authorized visitors.
• Verify or document visitor information in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor CCTV systems and remain alert for unusual activity or security concerns.
• Monitor fire alarm notifications and promptly communicate alerts to the appropriate party.
• Route calls, alerts, and requests to the appropriate personnel based on established procedures.
• Assist with lost or misplaced access badges and communicate badge-related concerns to authorized client personnel.
• Respond professionally to questions and routine requests from visitors and authorized personnel.
• Observe assigned areas for potential safety or security concerns and report issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and other required documentation.
• Follow post orders, company procedures, and assignment-specific instructions.
• Protect confidential information and exercise sound judgment when handling visitor or operational information.
• Communicate important shift information clearly to supervisors and authorized personnel.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Previous security, customer service, reception, access control, or related experience is helpful.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the public.
• Ability to remain alert while monitoring CCTV and other security systems.
• Ability to accurately follow procedures and route calls or notifications to the appropriate party.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling questions or unexpected situations.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and authorized personnel.
• Must successfully complete required background and employment screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience monitoring CCTV or other electronic security systems.
• Familiarity with visitor check-in or access-control procedures.
• Experience answering multi-purpose business telephone lines.
• Experience working with contractors, visitors, customers, or other members of the public.
• Previous experience handling access badges or credentials.
• Familiarity with incident logs, activity reports, or computerized documentation systems.
• Basic computer proficiency.
