Thales is a global technology leader trusted by governments, institutions, and enterprises to tackle their most demanding challenges. From quantum applications and artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and 6G innovation, our solutions empower critical decisions rooted in human intelligence. Operating at the forefront of aerospace and space, cybersecurity and digital identity, we’re driven by a mission to build a future we can all trust.

In Singapore, Thales has been a trusted partner since 1973, originally focused on aerospace activities in the Asia-Pacific region. With 2,000 employees across three local sites, we deliver cutting-edge solutions across aerospace (including air traffic management), defence and security, and digital identity and cybersecurity sectors. Together, we’re shaping the future by enabling customers to make pivotal decisions that safeguard communities and power progress.

We are seeking a technically competent and improvement-driven Process Engineer to support the manufacturing technology operations, maintain process stability and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to production operations to maintain stable and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate process deviations, troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including process capability, yield, scrap rate, cycle time and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support production escalation, containment and recovery activities to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Implement sustainable solutions to recurring process issues and improve process robustness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, productivity, manufacturing efficiency and cost performance.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and structured improvement methodologies to reduce waste and improve process flow.
  • Analyse manufacturing data to identify performance trends, determine improvement opportunities and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented actions.
  • Contribute to digitalisation and Industry 4.0 initiatives where applicable.
  • Develop and execute process qualification and validation plans, including the preparation of technical reports.
  • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), process capability studies and statistical analyses to establish and optimise process parameters.
  • Verify process performance against defined quality, reliability and production requirements before release.
  • Support customer, regulatory and internal qualification requirements, as applicable.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develop, review and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other process risk management tools.
  • Support internal, customer and external audits and maintain compliance with applicable quality standards and procedures.
  • Support product and process reliability testing, failure analysis and improvement activities.
  • Prepare, review and maintain Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process specifications, Control Plans and manufacturing standards.
  • Coordinate or support Engineering Change Order (ECO) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation.
  • Provide technical training to operators, technicians and manufacturing personnel on new or revised processes.
  • Develop training materials and support competency assessments and certification requirements, where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering or a related function, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process development, sustaining and optimisation.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of DOE, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans and process capability analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques, including 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Proactive approach to identifying process risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Commitment to quality, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
