Position Title: Aerospace Manufacturing Purchasing Agent

Position Summary

Pressco Products is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to purchase raw materials and hardware, maintaining the flow of demand and logistics of purchased materials. This position will occasionally assist with outside processing and outside manufacturing buying. Primary duties include Managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP), negotiating pricing or contract rates, collaborating with suppliers, generating purchase orders, and communicating internally to help ensure parts stay on schedule and in compliance with applicable quality requirements.


Job Duties and Essential Functions:

  • Manage procurement of and order raw materials, consumables, and purchase outside finish services from domestic and international vendors
  • Manage and run Material Requirements Planning (MRP) scans for material and parts requirements
  • Prepare, send, follow up, and negotiate Request for Quotes (RFQ’s)
  • Prepare, send, and follow up with Purchase Orders and corrections (PO’s and POC’s)
  • Manage order lead times with production schedule and department managers
  • Monitor suppliers’ performance and prepare reports and other KPIs. Conduct supplier business reviews and develop plans to improve supplier performance
  • Maintain and follow the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and Qualified Distributors List (QDL)
  • Perform annual lead time reviews for material mills and distributing companies
  • Maintain financial accountability, budgeting, and payment terms; collaborate with accounting management
  • Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, accounts payable invoices, and payment to the supplier.
  • Work with Quality Assurance on certs, incorrect, or damaged material or parts
  • Receive and order requisitions for tools, equipment, or other miscellaneous purchases as needed
  • Evaluate current processes and practices to identify areas for improvement projects using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or distribution procurement (Aerospace Manufacturing experience is preferred)
  • 3+ years of purchasing metals and polymers 
  • Accurate measurement and material calculation practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must have an eye for detail and possess excellent communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS) certification is preferred (not required)
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, and NADCAP
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with experience completing negotiations with little oversight and direction
  • Excellent attendance and time management
  • Standing, sitting, bending in a machine shop/office environment
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer/vendor relationship management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with active listening. Must be fluent in English
  • US Citizen
  • Highly proficient computer skills – Windows 11, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). We will train on our computer ERP systems (Infor VISUAL)

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time, on-site, hourly non-exempt position with a wage range of $32.00 to $48.00 per hour, depending on experience. Pressco offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, hearing, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k), and optional supplemental insurance. Occasional remote work may be available after discussion and approval.
