Responsibilities & Requirements

The CT Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy while adhering to regulatory standards and established protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate's degree or equivalent required).

Required Work Experience:

• Clinical experience gained through completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Additional 1-2 years of CT or diagnostic radiology experience preferred but not required.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [ARRT (R)].
• Valid Ohio Radiographer license issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained prior to or within 90 days of hire).
• ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of hire if not already held.

Skills:

• Proficiency in operating CT scanners and related imaging equipment.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and imaging protocols.
• Ability to administer oral and intravenous contrast media safely.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation and image quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.

Preferred Work Experience:

• One or more years of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or outpatient setting.

Preferred Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• ARRT (CT) certification at time of hire.
