20Position Summary:
- Help run the weekly quizzes and marking.
Lab related Work :
Prepare the experiments and demonstrate critical steps for the labor experiments listed below:
- Tissue culture cells growing and propagation site directed mutagenesis -PCR-,
- Bacterial transformation,
- Minipreps
- Restriction digestion and analysis,
- DNA sequencing analysis
- Transient transfection and mounting slides for confocal microscopy
- Help to prepare the flow cytometry datasets needed for the data analysis sessions.
- Share the flow cytometry datasets with the students, ensuring all students managed to download the data ahead of the class.
- Advise students in advance of the class how to download the free trial version of FlowJo software, troubleshooting any technical issues.
- Attend the lab sessions, monitor the chat section of the Zoom meeting to answer questions and troubleshoot problems.
- Grade lab reports
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Science
- Registered graduate student at McGill University
- Experience in protein trafficking, cell culture and microscopy
- Effective communication skills in English are essential.
