Account Manager

C.H. Robinson is looking for an Account Manager to join our team in Bilbao.

As Account Manager, you will manage a portfolio of small to mid-sized customers, building strong and trusted relationships while acting as a strategic partner to support their supply chain needs. Because local presence is highly valued by our customers, we are looking for someone based in or near Bilbao who enjoys regular face-to-face customer interaction.

In this role, you will be responsible for retaining and growing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities within existing accounts, and delivering exceptional service. You will partner closely with customers to understand their business challenges, provide tailored solutions, and conduct business reviews that drive value and long-term growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Manage and grow a portfolio of small to mid-sized customer accounts in the Bilbao region.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through regular on-site visits and face-to-face engagement.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness.
• Conduct business reviews, customer presentations, and strategic account meetings to strengthen partnerships and drive growth.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing business by promoting C.H. Robinson's transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to deliver effective solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Analyze customer performance, operational trends, and account data to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making.
• Manage challenging customer conversations professionally, providing clear communication and developing mutually beneficial solutions.
• Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring customer needs and priorities are understood across the organization.
• Travel approximately 30% of the time to customer locations to build relationships, support business objectives, and maintain a strong local presence.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Sales, or a customer-facing role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
• Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Experience conducting business reviews, customer presentations, and handling challenging customer conversations professionally.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Ability to travel locally to customer sites (approximately 30% travel).

Preferred

• Knowledge of Basque (Euskera).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot.
• Experience analyzing customer and business performance data.
• Ability to build relationships across multiple levels of customer organizations.
• Self-driven and proactive approach, with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Freight forwarding and supply chain experience in international logistics environments.

Compensation Range

€27,755.00 - €99,225.00
