Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager General Manufacturing I for its Business Unit, Armament Systems located in Mesa, AZ. Armament Systems is a leading supplier of integrated medium-caliber weapon systems for land, air and sea platforms through its world renowned Bushmaster® line of automatic cannons produced at its Mesa, Arizona facility.

Responsibilities of this role:

Lead a team of Assembly Technicians and Machinists within the Operations department on 2nd Shift. This leadership role will also work a 4 x 10 schedule Monday through Thursday with occasional overtime on Friday’s. This General Manufacturing Manager role supports the Northrop Grumman Armament System Gun programs.

Specific responsibilities and desired experience include:

• Effectively lead a diverse team of Assembly Technicians & Machinists in a dynamic product production environment.
• Set and promote high standards for quality and safety.
• Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation.
• Partner with engineering and program management peers to assure a balanced and efficient assignment of resources to support the gun programs and achievement in key performance metrics
• Drive Team technical excellence in Production.
• Balance team workload and staffing requirements to meet current and future program needs.
• Coach direct reports in the areas of career development, performance, and teamwork. Provide training and development opportunities. Provide continual feedback and hold quarterly connections.

Basic Qualifications

• We are emphasizing skills for this role. Will consider 9+ years of experience in place of a degree with a High School Degree or equivalent. Will also consider a Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years of experience; Master’s Degree + 3 years of experience; PhD + 0 years of experience.
• Experience directly or indirectly managing people
• Excellent communication skills – written and oral
• Experience working in manufacturing environment
• Ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvements
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• "As a responsible party to ATF, obtain coverage under Safe Explosive Act as employee possessor/responsible person upon starting."
• Able to start work a 4/10 (Mon-Thurs) 3:00 P.M. – 1:30 A.M. schedule, work overtime and some weekends if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or above
• Strong general knowledge in manufacturing methods and machining processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,300.00 - $129,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
