Meet the Team

The Regulatory Affairs & Compliance team within Cisco’s Legal department is comprised of lawyers, program managers, operational specialists, engineers, and subject matter experts focused on topics including compliance and ethics (anti-bribery and anti-corruption), global trade, cybersecurity, telecom, environmental sustainability, and various other regulatory practice areas and programs. We partner with colleagues in Legal and functional teams across the company to drive compliance and impact.

This team is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Director to lead strategy and execution at scale for Cisco's global compliance data analytics program, ensuring transformation of data into actionable insights that identify, mitigate, and monitor legal and regulatory risks as aligned with business objectives, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as direct manager for the Compliance Analytics & Enablement team.

Your Impact

  • You will collaborate with senior partners to design and test an AI-native compliance program and work with the development team to integrate data sources and operationalize the program.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep experience at the intersection of compliance-by-design and the scale of data and oversees high-value technical infrastructure that helps companies navigate complex regulatory and compliance landscapes at scale.
  • You will proactively develop and execute multi-year roadmaps for compliance data analytics strategy and model maturity that delivers proactive and AI/ML-enabled risk detection and insights.
  • You will oversee the team responsible for development of automated monitoring systems for enterprise risk compliance, ethics, and regulatory focus areas and serve as a visible leader for influencing data-centric culture to inform business and compliance decisions and responses.
  • You are a strong strategic leader with exceptional skills and an established track record of building early warning systems for compliance risks, and designing and delivering high-impact compliance program data-backed insights at the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Board levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in similar roles with at least 5 years within a Legal, Compliance, or Audit function of a large technology company or similar industry.
  • Quick adapter who uses AI-coding capability to prototype solutions quickly; strong skills and familiarity with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), and overseeing data science workflows.
  • A track record of overcoming challenges and creatively solving issues from incomplete or imperfect data sets.
  • Understanding of the key regulatory benchmarks for compliance: U.S. DOJ Sentencing Guidelines for Effective Compliance Programs, COSO, and related expectations regarding data-driven compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or data analytics, or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited school preferred or equivalent experience and/or training in compliance.
  • CCEP (Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner).
  • Ability to lead and manage complex projects; excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills to both business and legal audiences at various levels.
  • A curious communicator who is driven to use data to get insight to risk, with willingness to test and iterate to find a better solution. An investigator who is curious about how the company works and uses technology and data to give weight to insights.
