The Return-to-Work Specialist manages ADA accommodations and return-to-work programs, serving as the primary point of contact for associates, managers, and HR throughout the accommodation and transitional duty process. The role ensures timely case management, effective communication, regulatory compliance, and successful reintegration of associates into the workplace.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ADA:
Facilitate the interactive process for reasonable accommodation in accordance with state and federal laws.
Review of medical information for ADA management.
Prepare letter(s) to associates informing them of accommodation decision(s).
Document all aspects of case coordination such as claimant discussions and decision tracking within the leave management system to ensure proper reporting and compliance.
Coordinate return-to-work planning and ADA Accommodation discussions with managers and HR
Prepare correspondence to medical providers for clarified/additional information relevant to the interactive process.
Maintain regular contact with associates, managers and HR regarding progress and status as appropriate to the case.
Monitor implemented accommodations for effectiveness.
Consult with Counsel on undue hardship analysis and comprehensive management of complex cases.
Transitional Duty:
Collect Work Status Notice(s) from clinics and associates and provide updates to managers, HR, and third-party Examiners regarding restrictions and status changes.
Coordinate return-to-work planning and Transitional Duty discussions with onsite manager and HR.
Monitor implemented transitional duty assignments for effectiveness.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Region HR Business Leaders, Area HRD, Support Office HR, Legal, Risk Management, Safety, Frontline Leaders, Managers and Associates.
External: Third Party Vendors and HR Managed Services providers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of experience in human resources or leave administration.
Knowledge of leave administration requirements and applicable federal and state employment laws, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), and Workers' Compensation regulations.
Strong customer service, organizational and analytical skills; demonstrate effective time management, computer, and decision-making skills; and be able to successfully work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or equivalent work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) certification.
Workday and absence management system experience.
Call center experience.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
