Help Children Build Skills That Last a Lifetime

Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential?

Join Cincinnati Children's Autism Early Intervention Program, where you'll work directly with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a collaborative, classroom-style environment focused on communication, social development, learning, and behavioral success. As a Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS), you'll play a key role in helping children build meaningful skills while supporting families through one of the most important stages of development.

Whether you're growing your career in behavioral health, psychology, education, counseling, speech therapy, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis, or healthcare, this role offers hands-on experience and opportunities for professional growth within a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare system.

What You'll Do

Support Early Childhood Development

• Work directly with young children with ASD in both group and one-on-one settings.

• Help children develop communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills.

• Implement individualized treatment and learning plans designed by the care team.

• Reinforce positive behaviors and support skill acquisition through evidence-based interventions.

Create a Safe and Engaging Learning Environment

• Support children in a structured, preschool-like therapeutic setting.

• Lead or assist with therapeutic activities, learning stations, and skill-building groups.

• Maintain a safe, organized environment that promotes participation and success.

• Respond to behavioral challenges using team-based intervention strategies.

Partner with Families and Clinical Experts

• Collaborate with psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists.

• Support parent and caregiver education under clinical supervision.

• Participate in team planning meetings and multidisciplinary treatment discussions.

• Help families celebrate progress and achieve meaningful goals.

Track Progress and Outcomes

• Document patient responses and treatment activities accurately.

• Collect and manage behavioral and educational data.

• Assist with treatment plan updates and progress reporting.

• Help ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for every child served.

What You'll Bring

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Two years of experience working in a behavioral health role.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.

• Experience working with children.

• Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.

Why Join Cincinnati Children's?

• Gain valuable experience working alongside nationally recognized pediatric behavioral health professionals.

• Build skills in autism treatment, early childhood development, and behavioral intervention.

• Work in a supportive, collaborative environment focused on mentorship and growth.

• Make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families every day.

• Explore career pathways in psychology, counseling, social work, ABA, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, nursing, and other helping professions.

The Difference You'll Make

Every interaction matters. Through patience, encouragement, and evidence-based care, you'll help children develop skills that improve communication, independence, learning, and quality of life. If you're looking for meaningful work where you can see the impact of your efforts every day, we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and help children build the foundation for future success.
