Job Description
Job Summary:
- Lead end-to-end warehousing and transportation operations across India, ensuring seamless product flow from ports to customers.
- Manage import logistics, customs clearance coordination, and inbound transportation to distribution centers while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Oversee a network of multiple modern warehouses, driving operational excellence, storage optimization, inventory accuracy, and service levels.
- Develop and execute warehousing and freight strategies tailored to India's highly fragmented logistics and distribution landscape.
- Ensure on-time and cost-effective movement of products from warehouses to distributors, dealers, and customers across urban and remote geographies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience.
- Lead transportation procurement, carrier management, and freight optimization programs to improve cost and service performance.
- Establish and monitor key operational KPIs covering inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, freight costs, delivery performance, and compliance.
- Build strong partnerships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation partners.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements including GST, e-way bills, import regulations, quality standards, and EHS requirements.
- Manage capacity planning and network design decisions to support business growth while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Lead risk management and business continuity planning for warehousing and transportation operations across India.
- Drive digitalization and adoption of supply chain technologies, analytics, and automation tools to improve operational visibility and decision-making.
- Partner closely with Planning, Customer Service, Commercial, Finance, and Regulatory teams to ensure efficient execution of supply chain operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 12-14 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role within a med-tech, fmcg or pharma industry setting.
* Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve operational excellence.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and other operational management software.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
