Description
Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an intermediate or senior level systems engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills to define the design and requirements for a project adding a new control system to the Submarine Combat System. If you are passionate about working with multiple development teams to analyze and solve challenging problems, and enjoy making a difference, this job is for you.
What you will be doing:
- Work with software development and integration & test teams to develop architecture and design solutions to support project objectives.
- Lead and support complex interface definition across software, cyber, hardware, and other subsystems, ensuring consistency with the system architecture and requirements.
- Help prepare, organize, and attend government design reviews (e.g., Critical Design Review‑like events), including building technical content, traceability views, and interface/MBSE views suitable for senior Government stakeholders.
- Drive bug burndown, including coordinating with multi‑discipline owners, tracking to closure in JIRA, and maintaining clear documentation.
- Generate model-based systems engineering (MBSE) based system models characterizing software functionality for new and existing software applications.
- Develop and maintain MBSE models in Cameo, capturing system behaviors, interfaces, and allocations that feed into downstream design, I&T, and verification.
- Support requirements development and documentation, including updates to specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and SE artifacts.
- Operate within an Agile, PI‑based execution model, collaborating with feature teams and SE leadership to align stories, close out SE tasks, and manage pop‑up/government‑directed work.
- Partner closely with software and cybersecurity as primary collaborators, while also engaging with hardware, human factors, and safety engineers on cross‑cutting issues.
- Contribute to planning for the transition from Development to Integration & Test, ensuring that interface definitions, requirements, and models are ready to support the next phase.
What’s in it for you:
- Working on challenging and innovative projects.
- Opportunity to challenge yourself (learn and grow) intellectually as technologies advance.
