Location: Darlington

Full-Time | On-site

Salary:£‎44,475.20

About Us:

At Martin Brower UK & Ireland, we are a global leader in supply chain and logistics, dedicated to innovation and sustainability. As the backbone for some of the world's most recognised restaurant brands, such as McDonald's, we excel in simplifying supply chains and enhancing food logistics efficiency. We believe that collaboration and innovation help create workplaces where everyone can succeed. We're looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager (Nights) to join our team and help create a safe, productive, and supportive environment where colleagues can perform at their best while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Our CARES Values:

We are guided by our CARES Values: Change, Act As One, Relationships, Equity & Inclusion, and Safety & Wellness. We believe that embracing change and collaboration fosters strong relationships and ensures a safe and inclusive environment where everyone thrives.

Position Summary:

As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will play an important role in leading warehouse operations and supporting a team of warehouse colleagues through the night shift to achieve operational goals safely and efficiently. Working closely with operational leaders and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure productivity, service, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the ongoing development of colleagues across the operation.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a fast-paced logistics environment while supporting and developing a high-performing team. You'll work collaboratively across the business, helping to deliver excellent customer service, maintain high operational standards, and create an environment where safety, wellbeing, and teamwork remain at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and support warehouse shift teams to achieve operational, productivity, accuracy, and service objectives.
  • Plan resources and labour effectively to ensure workloads are managed efficiently and business needs are met.
  • Foster a positive team culture through regular communication, coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across operations and support functions to identify improvements and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, employment legislation, and company policies.
  • Monitor operational performance, maintain accurate records, and support the achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, service, productivity, and colleague experience.

Why Choose Martin Brower?

  • People-First Culture: Our employees are our most valuable asset. We cultivate a supportive atmosphere where every voice is heard and valued.
  • Opportunities for Growth: We invest in your development with clear paths for career advancement, whether that means progressing in your current role or exploring new opportunities within the organisation.
  • Culture of Continuous Improvement: We empower you to innovate and share ideas that help improve processes, strengthen performance, and support team success.

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • You have experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics, FMCG, or similar operational environment.
  • You enjoy supporting and developing others, creating an inclusive environment where people feel valued and empowered.
  • You are organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance operational priorities and resource planning effectively.
  • You communicate clearly and build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have experience using Microsoft Office applications and are comfortable working with operational data and reporting tools.
  • You take a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • You have an understanding of performance management, health and safety requirements, and operational compliance standards. Experience within a unionised environment or knowledge of employment legislation would be beneficial but is not essential.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment where collaboration and wellbeing are prioritised.
  • Opportunities for career development, leadership growth, and ongoing learning.
  • The chance to work within a global organisation recognised for operational excellence.
  • A culture that values safety, diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Access to colleague wellbeing initiatives and employee support programmes.
  • Opportunities to contribute ideas and make a positive impact on operational performance.
