The primary priority for this role is OR support, though the ideal candidate will also be open to supporting clinic-based care as needed by the practice. This is an ideal opportunity for a PA seeking a defined seasonal commitment while working alongside leading orthopedic specialists in a collaborative, world-class clinical environment.

POSITION DETAILS:

Job Title: Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery

Practice: Hand, Wrist, Elbow & Orthopaedic Trauma

Employees working fewer than 30 hours per week may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with applicable plan provisions.

Location:  Primarily based at our Vail Clinic, with travel to other clinic locations as needed to support the practice.

Compensation:  $105,000–$180,000 annualized, paid bi-weekly and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Actual compensation will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled hours and length of the seasonal assignment. Compensation will reflect relevant experience as a PA-C or PA-S, particularly in orthopedic surgery, surgical first assist, and independent clinical practice.

Anticipated Duration: November to February

  • Manage prescription medications as directed, and perform therapeutic and diagnostic injections in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Complete preoperative consultation forms, surgical procedure coding, and postoperative notes and orders for the supervising physician. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.

  • Report to assigned facilities and Steadman Clinic locations as scheduled in coordination with the attending physician.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as triaging patient calls, preparing FMLA and disability forms, and assisting with other patient care-related duties as needed.
  • Actively contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical protocols, patient assessment forms, and continuous improvement efforts in patient care.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and collaborating physicians to foster a positive care environment.
  • Must consistently demonstrate a professional, compassionate attitude toward patients while fostering a collaborative, respectful, and positive working relationship with all Steadman Clinic and hospital personnel involved in patient care
  • Uphold patient privacy rights and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and clinic policies.
  • Adhere to Steadman Clinic’s mission, values, and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook. Participate in regular staff meetings and other required meetings to stay aligned with organization objectives.

Perform other related duties as assigned: Please note, the responsibilities and scope outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may evolve based on business needs.
