General Summary:

The Digital Content Scheduling & Automation Specialist is a technical and operational support role responsible for coordinating the day-to-day scheduling, rights validation, ingestion support, workflow optimization, and quality control processes for Sony One across multiple digital products and distribution partners, including its Channels, Affiliate Partners and the Sony One App. The role owns the creation, maintenance, auditing, and distribution of programming schedules across multiple platform workflows and systems. The Specialist works across multiple scheduling tools, rights databases, release calendars, metadata files, partner CMS and backend delivery systems to ensure content is published accurately, on time, and in compliance with approved rights windows and per platform requirements.  The role also supports workflow optimization initiatives using tools such as Python, macros, Alteryx and Power Automate to improve scheduling accuracy, workflow consistency, reporting visibility and cross-functional coordination while maintaining human oversight of operational exceptions, metadata discrepancies, rights conflicts and partner-specific requirements not fully addressed through automated workflows.  The role requires ongoing operational judgment to manage platform exceptions and strengthen cross-departmental workflows. This position reports to the Digital Editorial & Programming Supervisor and provides exposure to multiple areas of the Latin American Content Strategy business.

(50%) Content & Editorial Scheduling:

  • Coordinate and maintain recurring schedules across Sony One digital products and distribution partners, including Amazon Channels, affiliate platforms, ISPs and the Sony One App, ensuring schedules remain aligned with each partner’s unique operation timelines, publishing priorities and approved rights windows.
  • Support scheduling workflows, validating accuracy, correct mapping and platform specific requirement compliance, across multiple source documents and systems, including Master Lists, Content Asset Requests, Amazon SKU lists, GPMS IDs, release strategy calendars, rights databases such as Bebanjo and Master Rights, and CMS/backend systems such as Simplestream Media Manager and Prime Video Slate, constantly monitoring partner requirement changes and operational exceptions.
  • Prepare and review platform-specific avails and scheduling files to ensure metadata standards, publish windows, regional restrictions, title identifiers, SVOD vs. FVOD status, format requirements and delivery specifications are correctly applied per territory per platform.
  • Assist with multi-territory scheduling operations across key territories including but not limited to Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and future launches, managing specific right conditions per country and for each launch such as title release timing, catalog size, exclusivity and overlap compliance.
  • Maintain and validate rights windows, scheduling data, and operational reports to identify potential conflicts, inconsistencies, expired rights, blackout restrictions or publishing risks per title/per platform requiring escalation, renegotiation and manual review.
  • Support editorial and programming strategy by analyzing content availability, rights status, title tracking, catalog opportunities, removals, content highlights and scheduling recommendations based on operational needs and approved business priorities.
  • Assist with partner onboarding and launch support activities, including priority launch title lists, adapting avail formats, managing territory-specific rights requirements, and coordinating scheduling setup based on partner delivery models.
  • Collaborate with Acquisitions, Operations, Product and Digital Partnerships to help manage recurring scheduling workflows, operational updates, issue resolutions and delivery readiness across multiple platforms.

(30%) Automation, Data Management & Workflow Optimization:

  • Specialize in building, maintaining Python scripts, macros, Alteryx workflows, Power Automate workflows, and other automation tools that support scheduling operations, rights validation, reporting, cross-department notifications & communication, and workflow consistency, scheduling accuracy and operational scalability.
  • Maintain automated scheduling source and operational tracking documents used across master content lists, asset requests, right reports, release calendars and partner scheduling flows, extracting key data from master lists, content asset request files, SKU lists, GPMS IDs, release calendars, and other scheduling inputs, evaluating workflows and optimizing models periodically to account for internal system and data structure variations.
  • Run and review automated validation checks & pre-upload audits to compare avails against master rights windows and identify date mismatches, blackout returns, missing titles, duplicate entries, and other potential scheduling errors before ingestion or distribution.
  • Assist Content Strategy Senior Manager in maintaining content tracking files, overlap tracking files, rights reports, exclusivity reporting, catalog analysis, and monthly reporting processes.
  • Support the Content Strategy and Acquisitions teams as the team’s automation specialist by coordinating with Data Science, AI, Information Technology, and internal stakeholders to evaluate, implement, validate, and continuously enhance automation solutions, AI tools, reporting workflows, and machine learning processes across Sony One, FAST programming, and other digital content workflows.
  • Support ongoing efforts to integrate new tools, data sources, and workflow improvements, including SharePoint-based processes, iBop/GPMS data exports, Power Automate licensing, licensed platform optimizations, and cross-functional notification workflows.
  • Maintain documentation for recurring scheduling workflows, automation logic, validation steps, exception handling, and process updates to support consistency, training, and business continuity.

(20%) QA/QC Review, Ingestion & Troubleshooting:

  • Identify operational issues not captured through automated validation processes, thorough weekly monitoring, QA/QC processes, and front-end checks for Sony One digital products and partner platforms, including app environments, affiliate platforms, Prime Video channels, and future launches in Latin American territories.
  • Verify and adjust with cross-departmental coordination that scheduled content is live, correctly displayed, aligned with approved publish dates, unpublish dates, regional rights, metadata requirements, and editorial placements.
  • Support ingestion processes across partner platforms and delivery tools, including Slate, WinSCP, Media Manager, email-based affiliate distribution, and other delivery systems.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot scheduling, ingestion, metadata, and publishing errors by reviewing source files, partner feedback and reporting, backend systems, front-end availability, and platform requirements.
  • Escalate unresolved operational issues to internal stakeholders, vendors and platform partners while assisting with tracking and follow-through to resolution with internal project management tools such as Asana and internal partner CMS tickets such as Slate, Bebanjo, Mediamanager and Arion.
  • Collaborate with Product, Finance, Operations, and partner contacts to ensure content-related errors are escalated, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
