Senior SOC Analyst

Put your investigative instincts and cybersecurity expertise to work as a Senior SOC Analyst at Master Electronics, helping shape how we detect, respond to, and learn from security threats. You’ll lead complex incident response, hunt for emerging threats, and turn lessons learned into stronger detections and smarter playbooks.

 

Working closely with our cybersecurity leaders, you’ll mentor junior analysts and bring critical human judgment to evolving security tools and automation.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 / Annually

Location: Phoenix, AZ

What you will do?

• Own end-to-end incident response for escalated/complex cases: investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review
• Perform proactive threat hunting across EDR, email security, and SIEM telemetry
• Tune and improve detection logic, correlation rules, and playbooks based on investigation findings and false-positive/false-negative trends
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to the SOC Analyst I, including case shadowing, review, and skill development
• Serve as incident commander or technical lead during active incidents, coordinating with IT, compliance, and business stakeholders as needed
• Review and approve (or reject) higher-risk containment/response actions, including those proposed by the team's automated detection/response system, per the documented human-approval process
• Lead or contribute to red-team/tabletop exercises and translate findings into new detection or process improvements
• Support compliance and audit needs (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) with evidence, incident records, and process documentation
• Contribute to on-call escalation coverage and act as the senior escalation point for the junior analyst

 

 

 

 

What you bring to the table!

• 4+ years of experience in a SOC, incident response, or threat-hunting role
• Hands-on expertise with an enterprise EDR/XDR and SIEM platform (CrowdStrike strongly preferred); comfort building/tuning detections, not just consuming alerts
• Solid incident-response fundamentals: evidence handling, chain-of-custody discipline, timeline reconstruction, and clear incident reporting to technical and non-technical audiences
• Scripting ability (Python and/or PowerShell) for investigation tooling and automation
• Working knowledge of common frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF) and how they inform detection and response design
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and operate independently under pressure

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with email security gateways, secure web gateways, Microsoft Entra/Defender, or DMARC/email-authentication tooling
• Relevant certifications: GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, OSCP, or CISSP
• Exposure to AI/LLM-assisted detection or SOAR tooling and an informed, healthy skepticism about where automation should and shouldn't have final authority
• Experience supporting compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST 800-53)
