Position Summary

Under the direction of a member of the IS management team, performs assigned entry level IS tasks consistent with the educational course work of either a graduate or undergraduate student working towards a degree in computer-related field.

Responsibilities

• As part of the work experience in Information Systems, the Trainee gains an understanding and assists Information Systems staff in installing, maintaining, upgrading, and decommissioning network hardware and software. * Also may include: * Desktop computers and their maintenance * Networks and their maintenance * Server configuration and maintenance * Network/Server monitoring methods and tools * Service Desk operations and management * Application development and maintenance
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Maintains the customer service standards of the department and Versiti.
• Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers, donors, and colleagues, sharing all necessary information.
• Works effectively with team members, contributing to team efforts.
• Supports Versiti’s mission, vision, and values as well as department goals and objectives
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

Education

• High School graduate currently pursuing a degree in a computer-related field. required

Experience

• No previous work experience is required, but a variety of computer/PC experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication skills. required
• Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced environment. required
• Ability to represent the IS Department in a professional manner. required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals. required
