LIFE Senior Services is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic Senior Center Specialist to support the daily operations, programming, and member experience at the Roma Berry Senior Center.
In this role, you will help create a welcoming and engaging environment where older adults can connect, participate in activities, learn, and access helpful services. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can balance multiple responsibilities, and is comfortable taking initiative in a busy community setting.
- Welcome members and visitors and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Help plan, schedule, set up, facilitate, and close out programs, classes, activities, and special events.
- Share information about Senior Center programs, upcoming activities, and other LIFE Senior Services resources.
- Conduct member enrollment and maintain accurate intake forms, attendance records, surveys, and other program documentation.
- Answer phones, take messages, maintain calendars, and complete basic filing and data-entry tasks.
- Coordinate with instructors, volunteers, community partners, and other team members regarding schedules, room use, and program needs.
- Assist with recruiting, welcoming, and supporting volunteers.
- Occasionally accompany or lead groups of older adults on scheduled outings.
- Arrange rooms and materials for programs and return activity areas to an orderly condition afterward.
- Perform routine light cleaning, including sanitizing high-touch surfaces and restocking supplies.
- Monitor the facility, report maintenance or safety concerns, and respond appropriately during emergencies.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and required annual compliance courses.
- Support team and organizational needs by completing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with older adults, volunteers, coworkers, instructors, and community partners.
- Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and data entry.
- Ability to organize and coordinate multiple activities in a busy, changing environment.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team.
- Professional, patient, positive, and dependable approach.
- Ability to remain calm and use good judgment when responding to day-to-day challenges or emergencies.
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for work-related responsibilities.
- Willingness to obtain a food handler’s permit, CPR certification, and First Aid training after hire.
Preferred
- At least one year of experience in a social, recreational, community, customer-service, hospitality, or outreach setting.
- Experience working with older adults, volunteers, or group activities.
- Experience in a licensed healthcare or senior-serving environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the Senior Center. Employees must be able to set up activity spaces and lift or move items weighing up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
