Role overview
As Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, you lead the function and play a key role in defining and execution Mining’s strategic agenda. You oversee portfolio development, strategic initiatives, and M&A activities in close collaboration with divisional presidents, functional leaders, and Sandvik Group stakeholders.
You report directly to the President of Mining and are a member of the BA’s management team.
Your mission
You translate the BA’s strategic priorities into clear direction, focused initiatives, and measurable business impact. Through analysis, portfolio work, and transformation initiatives, you strengthen competitive advantage and support sustainable growth. You also have overall hosting responsibility for the Marketing and Communications function within Mining.
Your key responsibilities
- Driving BA strategy development and execution.
- Supporting divisional strategy development and business planning.
- Leading mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and strategic partnerships.
- Evaluating growth opportunities, portfolio priorities, and industry trends.
- Providing market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic analysis to support executive decision-making.
Location
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden. International travel is a natural and expected part of the position.
Your profile
You’re an experienced strategy leader with a strong track record in business development and execution. Combining strategic thinking with commercial acumen, you’ve influenced business direction and delivered impact in complex international environments.
Your background includes
- Experience from management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or business development.
- Solid M&A experience, including deal evaluation, due diligence, integration, and value creation.
- Proven success leading strategic initiatives and transformation in international organizations.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership teams and boards.
- Strong commercial understanding of industrial, technology, or capital equipment businesses.
Intellectual curiosity, pragmatism, and execution focus characterize your leadership style. You build trust quickly, challenge constructively, and translate complex business questions into clear priorities and actions. With a collaborative mindset, you create alignment and help position the business for continued success.
