Kroger Sales and Category Analyst

The Opportunity
Our location in Cincinnati, Ohio currently has an opportunity for a Sales and Category Analyst, Kroger.
The position is responsible for providing sales and analytical support for the Abbott Kroger Sales Team, inclusive of Harris Teeter and other potential future Kroger acquisitions. Responsibilities include comprehensive category performance assessment, banner-specific analysis, reporting, and data-supported insights and recommendations that influence internal and external customers.
Candidates should have the ability to identify and report key findings and growth opportunities, and make recommendations through mediums such as Nielsen/Circana, Kroger’s 84.51 data suite, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint. They should also be at the forefront in developing and maintaining effective and accurate reporting tools. The position will interact with the customer on a regular basis and have high visibility with their direct manager and director.
The role will further have a heightened focus on customer-centric analytics to include forecasting and shipment activity, household panel data, profitability measurement, and consumption activity. Responsibilities will include updating reports to track team progress against goals and creating/building new reports as needed to keep up with the evolving needs of the business. This includes completing ad hoc requests as needed by internal and external stakeholders and providing surge support during key Kroger and Abbott internal review windows (quarterly planning sessions, IBP, etc.).
Lastly, the role will provide internal and external sales management with the tools, real-time analytical capabilities and recommendations to support sales and category strategies, execution and measurement. The role will partner internally to prioritize automation/AI capabilities to develop standardized, efficient, and repeatable processes.
What You’ll Work On
- Develops and communicates sales analysis, insights, and strategy recommendations that advance business goals
- Provides consumption-based insights used in the management of product sales (e.g. assortment, pricing, promotion, and profit)
- Manages, tracks, and projects shipments and consumption of Abbott products to support and aid in monthly forecast process
- Tracks and reports promotional performance and ROI. Recommends positive future promotional strategy edits
- Employs an understanding of shopper insights, retail grocery channel, and pricing architecture; possess technical knowledge of various computer systems and software, customer processes, systems and priorities and the relationship between these functions
- Implements and maintains the effectiveness and quality of available data and analysis
- Identifies and responds to opportunities to automate processes and streamline efficiencies
- Understands the goals and objectives of the Nutrition Division and the Sales Force
- Regularly participates in customer appointments and presentation
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience in Sales, Finance or Marketing. Previous experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry working with national retailers essential; bachelor’s degree required.

- Communication Proficiency (oral, written and presentation) – Giving or receiving information effectively; expressing and/or presenting ideas in individual and group situations (including written and nonverbal communication, and use of visual aids); adjusting language or terminology to the needs of the audience.
- Planning & Organization/Workflow Management – Establishing a course of action for self to accomplish a specific project or goal; allocating appropriate resources; establishing procedures to monitor the results of assignments or projects. Alignment of resources needed for recommendations.
- Decision Making (includes both Analysis/Problem Assessment and Judgment/Problem Solving) – Securing relevant information and identifying key issues; relating and comparing data from different sources; identifying cause-effect relationships; considering resources, constraints, and values and their impact on the decision; committing to a course of action based on logical assumptions and factual information. Pursuit of logical recommendations.
- Practical Learning of Technical and Professional Knowledge – Assimilating and applying in a timely manner new job-related information that may vary in complexity; keeping abreast of current developments and trends in areas of expertise; using technology effectively as a business tool.
- Customer Focus – Proactively developing customer solutions by listening to and understanding the customer (both internal and external); anticipating and providing appropriate solutions tailored to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
Preferred
- Strong analytical ability and interest
- Experience and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products & applications including Power BI, syndicated data (Nielsen NIQ, Circana), and prior experience with or aptitude for quick mastery of Kroger 84.51 data suite
- Interest in advancing into elevated sales, marketing and/or category management roles

The base pay for this position is
